Skipper Celia Bull is an experienced skipper and climber who first started sailing in the late 90’s when she joined a 10m boat in Greenland. Taken with high latitudes, she crewed on a charter boat working out of the Falkland Islands and visited South Georgia and Antarctica during film work with BBC Blue Planet team. Following this incredible experience she bought her own boat, Ada 2, and returned to the South Atlantic. For 5 years she sailed with expeditions and charters in Patagonia, South Georgia and an all female trip to Antarctica. Celia lived and sailed with her baby son on Ada before settling down for a few years in Chile with Dylan. When he was three they found and bought Selkie in Croatia. Selkie became their home and they worked their way back to the UK and up to the Isle of Eigg where they now live and run a croft and Selkie Explorers.
Dean Wiggin Dean is an experienced seaman having worked on fishing boats and kayaked around most of the Scottish islands. He has lived on Eigg for many years and is part of the coastguard team. He is very knowledgeable about wildlife, engines and tales of west coast adventures. He was a keen mountaineer and has climbed most of the mountains that you will see here as well as some in Asia and South America. He started crewing on Selkie in 2014 and has proved to be an excellent crew and is mainly onboard for winter trips and St Kilda trips.
Tamsin McCarthyTamsin was born on Eigg and has sailed since a child with her family. She has been crewing on Selkie for a year and is a very accomplished crew member and host. She sails once a week with Selkie on day trips as Tamsin also runs the Glebe Barn and is a mother but occasionally Selkie is lucky enough to have her onboard for a multi day trip too.
Dougal Tolan Dougal is Selkie ground support on the Isle of Eigg. An electronic engineer by training he has been working on Selkie for 3 years and knows the systems and machinations of the boat like the back of his hand. Although you won't find him onboard during your trip, it's because of his meticulous work that Selkie sails the waves as a charter boat.
